Keeper of the Lost Cities

Keeper of the Lost Cities is about a girl named Sophie Foster who has been able to hear the thoughts of other people ever since an accident that occurred when she was 5. She has a photographic memory, which makes her super nerdy and bumped her up to high school. She doesn't fit in with anyone, not even with her own brunette family (she has blond hair).

On a high school field trip to a museum, she sees a cute guy with a silent mind and he whisks her away to the elf world. He shows her a new world of things that shouldn't be real, and tells her she doesn't belong in the human world, and lives her life in her new world. Ever since she came to the elf world, she didn't belong either. She didn't have blue or teal eyes, and she manifested talents at too-young of an age.

One day, a secret organization sends her threatening messages, and she is determined to find them and battle against them to abolish the organization once and for all.

There are currently six books, with a seventh book being released on November 6th, 2018. The books range from 490 to 790 pages, and it's a pretty challenging series. It is recommended for ages 9 and above. It is also a type of book that would typically appeal to girls since the main character is a girl, but boys could enjoy it as well.
